Dillon Robertson, MA, Professional Counselor Associate

SERVING CHILDREN, TEENS, AND YOUNG ADULTS

Philosophy and Approach:

I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with the tools they have. More importantly, though, I believe we can be doing our best and still want to do better. Participating in therapy to me means choosing to believe in yourself enough to use whatever assets you have available to you. As a professional counselor, I deeply respect your decision to choose me to hear your story and walk with you in navigating the twists and turns life has thrown your way. I believe all this can be accomplished as a collaborative effort to find the spots that trouble you and find the best path forward that fits who you are. I believe everyone, no matter where you are in life, deserves to have someone sitting with you during your highs and lows.

You are not alone and you have what it takes.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is the prime contributor to change and have my foundations in client-centered therapy. Through building a strong connection, I believe we can build a path forward to utilize tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, Strengths-based, and Mindfulness and Meditation practices. When working with children and adolescents I also utilize elements of Play Therapy. I also have experience in the employment field working with clients on career exploration as well as job coaching.

Formal Training and Experience

I am a Registered Associate Counselor in the state of Oregon (R7221). I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Multnomah University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Washington State University. Payment for Services:

Payments for therapy are based on a 50-55 minute session at $135 per session. Other communication like telephone conversations or longer sessions may be billed likewise when agreed upon. I am also in-network with OHP Health Share. Please notify me if any problems arise during therapy regarding your ability to make timely payments. Per request, a sliding scale fee can be agreed upon by the therapist and client. All appointments will be charged a cancellation fee unless cancellation is made with a 24-hour notice of your scheduled appointment or there has been an agreed-upon emergency related to cancellation.

Personal:

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my entire life and have loved being here. I moved to Oregon after finishing my undergraduate degree and have firmly rooted myself here. I am married to my beautiful and amazing wife for five years and have two children and a ¾ Bangle cat. I love playing or listening to music, board games, nerd things (Star Wars, D&D, IT work, etc.), and playing video games with friends. If I have free time, I like to either spend it with my family and friends or just love being around people!
